1.  Local bus service to Anchorage and surrounding area.
2.  Chugach State Park, Eagle River Visitor Center Museum on Wildlife, numerous wilderness trails, enjoy wildlife viewing and wildflowers.
3. Hike the famous Crow Creek Pass trail.
4. Canoe or raft the scenic and wild Eagle River.
5. Visit the beautiful Thunderbird Falls near the Native Village of Eklutna and visit the Eklutna Village Athabascan Park and see the historic St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church dating back to the 1830's. oldest building in the Anchorage area.
6. Various state park campgrounds: Eagle River, Peters Creek and Eklutna Lake.
7. Close to two major military installations for the military and retired military visitors.
8.Three major hospitals in the area.

 

 

      Seasonal Attractions
 

FEBRUARY- Fur Rendezvous, ten days of fun with the Alaska winter. World  Champion sled dog race and auto ice racing. Carnival rides, Alaskan fur auction, numerous museum displays and fun events.
MARCH - Iditarod sled dog race from Anchorage to Nome, 1049 miles with Eagle River designated as  checkpoint No. 1.  See the beautiful dogs that make this trek each year.
JULY - Local Bear Paw Festival featuring community activities, parade, games and contests.
MAY thru SEPTEMBER -  Excellent fishing in area lakes and rivers.
